The USA has yet to win a World Cup, but they have made it to the finals the past six times consecutively. The USA qualified very well coming out on top of the six teams in the CONCACAF Zone. The USA won six out of their ten games.
When the USA team is unified they are hard to beat. The team must remain cohesive, in order to accomplish their winning goals. With the team playing as one, they can be competitive against any other team in the world.
The weakness of the USA is the lack of their offensive ability to make plays on the go. The offense is quite talented, but they lose control if the ball is moving at a fast paced. There is nothing wrong with a slow game, but the other team can pick up on this tactic.
Landon Donovan is a player that should be watched on the American squad. Donovan plays for the Los Angeles Galaxy where he has honed his skills. Donovan is an efficient attacker and a big deal on the USA team. Also watch for one of the best goalkeepers in the world, Tim Howard. Howard has defended against some of the best players in the around playing in the English Premier League.
To better their last World Cup performance, the USA needs to make it past the Group stage. The USA has the ability to beat any of the teams in their group. The greatest challenge will be England.
