Serbia

Serbia is a newly independent nation and is making their first appearance at the World Cup Finals under that flag.  Serbia has previously played as Yugoslavia and made several appearances at the World Cup.  Serbia had a coaching change that helped improve their strategy and helped them to qualify for the World Cup Finals.

The strength of Serbia is their backline and their midfield.  The backline is able to stop aggressive attacks with ease.  The midfield is able to attack the other side and make precision shots.

The lack of strikers is a definite problem for the Serbian team.  The lack of strikers means a lack of goals.  If no one can step up as striker, then this could prove to be a serious problem for the Serbian team.  Serbia plays well against smaller teams, but tends to struggle against larger teams.

Watch out for Serbia’s top scorer Milan Jovanovic.  Jovanovic plays very smart and is able to spot opportunities to attack.  The defensive side looks to Nemanja Vidic for leadership.  Vidic is extremely good at set pieces.  Dejan Stankovic has experience to help lead his team. Stankovic is a very good runner and is rarely matched.

Serbia has a very good chance to make it to the Knock Out stage.  In their match against Germany, the German squad is expected to come out on top.  The matches that matter are against Australia and Ghana.  Both of these games will not be easy wins, but are defiantly winnable by the Serbians.
