Mexico has been very successful internationally, but has failed to when very many titles to prove that.  Mexico is a regular at the World Cup Finals.  The past few years have been difficult for the Mexican team going through three coaches and losing more than 60 players.  The Mexicans struggled in qualifying, but managed to come in second behind the USA and secure a spot in the Group stage.

The greatest strength of Mexican team is their midfield.  The midfield is able to help on both sides of the field.   Feeding the ball to the frontline is a skill that the Mexican midfielders are good at.

The weakness of Mexico is their firepower.  There are no good strikers.  Also, the midfield does not have the range to make goals.

Probably one of the best Mexican soccer players is Cuauhtemoc Blanco.  Blanco is an older player, but he has extreme precision.  Blanco was convinced to come out of retirement and has been a great asset. Look for Rafael Marquez on the defensive side of the field.  Marquez has explosive power, but his temper has been known to get the better of him.

Mexico’s main goal is make it beyond the Group stage, but they have the skill to make it further than that.  A win against France will be difficult, but is definitely achievable.  The game against Uruguay will be the most entertaining to watch because of a long-standing rivalry.  If Mexico plays to their ability they will do extremely well.
