Germany
Germany makes regular visits to the World Cup and South Africa will probably visit it as well. The German team has won the World Cup three times in the past and is looking good to do it again. Germany had no trouble qualifying as they won all of their games. In their qualifying matches, Germany only conceded five goals.
The greatest strength of the German team is their energy. The Germans are also able to out hustle the best teams in the world. Physically they are probably one of the best teams in the world.
The German’s greatest weakness is the loss of their goalie. In November 2009 Germany’s goalkeeper, Robert Enke, took his life. This shocked the team and soccer fans alike. Enke was a great goalkeeper and has yet to be replaced by someone that could match his skills. The loss of Enke has really hurt the morale of the team.
The captain, Michael Ballack, is a great leader for the Germans. His aerial play is top notch and he is ready to score goals when they count the most. Also look out for Miroslav Klose. Klose is a striker and is ready to score goals. He scored seven goals during qualifying matches, which is more than anyone on the German squad. Watch out for Mesut Oezil in the midfield. Oezil is not a star, but is creative and an asset to the team.
Germany is expected to make it to the Knock Out rounds without any problems. The matches that matter are against Serbia. A win against Serbia would mean better position in the future rounds for Germany.
