France
France, also known as the “Les Bleus,” has been a successful team throughout history. France has one World Cup title under their belt and has advanced far in the cup before. France lost only one game in their qualifying matches, but it was no easy road. France gained their spot in the Group stage with a controversial handball. This handball left many people thinking that France did not deserve to compete in South Africa. Despite the controversy France is in the World Cup Finals and is ready to play.
The French are extremely good attackers. Many team members on the French National team play for big name clubs. Watch out for some deadly attacks coming out of the Les Bleus.
The weak part of the French team is their defense. The defense tends to make mistakes and let balls get through. If the defenders could communicate better than this would not be a problem.
The player that is now under constant scrutiny for the alleged handball is Thierry Henry. He almost considered ending his career from all of the criticism that he has received. Henry has been an excellent player throughout his career and hopefully will be able to overcome the critics. Also look for Franck Ribery. Ribery will impress with both his speed and style.
The French are at the World Cup to win. The biggest threat in the Group stage is Mexico. The winner of that match will take the group and move to the Knock Out round.
