England

England is a regular at the World Cup Finals, but has only managed to come away as champions one time before in 1966.  The English were consistent in their qualifying matches and won nine out of their ten games.   The English scored the most goals in the European Zone with 34 goals during qualification.

The English have proven to be a very tactical team, which has been a great strength.  They are a smart team and know how to get the ball and position it well.  England has a lot of good players, but they do not have a lot of great players.

England tends to struggle against the bigger teams of the world.  The English have talent, but always seem to be intimidated by the famous teams of the world.  Another weakness of England is their goalkeeper.  He is constantly being criticized for mistakes and a sloppy style.

With a new injury, do not expect to see the famous David Beckham playing in the World Cup this year.  Watch out for other players like fiery Wayne Rooney.  Rooney is an extremely physically strong player.  His downfall is his temper.  At the quarterfinals in 2006, Rooney failed to contain his emotions and received a red card.

England’s first game in the Group stage is the USA.  England is slightly favored on paper, but in reality the game could go to either team. In the games against Algeria and Slovania, England is greatly favored.  England should have an easy road to the next stage.
