Germany and Australia are scheduled to face off in Group D of the World Cup on the 13th of June. These two teams are part of what may be the toughest group of all of the groups in the entire World Cup in this upcoming year.

The Germans are probably the favorites of all of the teams in Group D due to their heavy offensive attack. The Germans have very strong players that can lead a formidable attack that the men from Australia may not be able to keep up with.

Of all of the teams in Group D, Australia may have the worst defensive game plan. The Australian squad will need to find a way to stop this tough offensive attack if they hope to have a chance in this game. The Germans are led by Lukas Podolksi and Miroslov Close on the attack. If you combine that with the Midfield play of Germany and they will be heavy favorites.

Part of the reason why many feel that Australia is a weaker team is because of the lack of competition that they face around the year. The Australian team does have a strong goalkeeper but he will likely struggle in a world class game such as this one if his defense can’t protect him.

The Germans do have a weakness though, and that is their defense. This defense is not very impressive at times, and if Australia can get to the goalkeeper of Germany they will have a chance to upset this game despite their frailties.

Being one of the powerhouse countries in not only this World Cup but all World Cup’s prior, Brazil will again come out with all guns firing in South Africa in 2010.

After what some Brazil diehards would say was a lack-luster qualifying performance, the Brazilian squad still managed to qualify for the World Cup with three games remaining, and remain at the top of the qualifying group throughout the process. With some of the most prolific players to ever play the game, including names like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, and the best player to play the game, Pele, it should be no surprise that some of the best players to be featured in the 2010 World Cup will hail from Brazil.

Some of the players to keep an eye on during the 2010 World Cup include Kaka, a former Serie A Footballer of the Year in 2004 and 2007 as well as the FIFA World Player of the Year in 2007, can be seen as the playmaker for the Brazilian squad as well as the a player to watch throughout the entire tournament.

Up top, look for Luis Fabiano to be the player scoring a plethora of goals for the Brazilian side as well. With a loaded squad like Brazil, it should be no surprise to see them at the top of their “Group of Death” throughout the World Cup and make a run towards winning their sixth World Cup championship. I bet there are going to be some really good props for them at the sportsbooks.
