Japan vs. Cameroon: FIFA World Cup Preview
In the 2010 World Cup on the 14th of June, Japan and Cameroon will play each other. As they square off on the 14th, these teams will be playing for different reasons.
Unfortunately, in Group, Japan is seen as the overwhelming favorite to come in last place. This being the case, by taking at least one game in this World Cup, they will be looking to secure a sense of national pride. Their best opportunity may be against this team from Cameroon.
Although Cameroon don’t have the balanced attack that could easily put a team like Japan away, they are no pushover. Over Japan, Cameroon will hold a definite offensive advantage, but is very vulnerable in the defensive aspects of the game.
To develop a sense of offensive urgency is the key for Japan. Even though Japan may have the opportunity to score some goals against this weak defense from Cameroon, they don’t have an especially dangerous offensive attack.
As most see the Netherlands as securing one of the advancement spots, Cameroon is looking to compete for the 2nd position of advancement in their group. The African people in the crowd will be an added advantage for Cameroon. They will be playing not only for advancement in the match, but also for the advancement of soccer in Africa.
Cameroon is expected to come out strong. In this group matching, a good opening win will set the tone for the rest of their games. With their potent offensive attack, they will try to run up the score.
